As we move forward this yearl, we will slowly be opening to some of the following volunteer activities.  More info will be shared in our newsletters. (updated September 2021)

There are many ways parents/guardians can volunteer in the school. For those who work during the school day you can volunteer for: 

1. Home and School organization

2. School Advisory Council 

3. Art Committee

4. Breakfast Program 

5. Book Fair

6. Garden Committee

For those who are available during the school day you can volunteer for :

1. Lunch Monitor ( as a volunteer or as a paid monitor)
2. Breakfast Program
3. Reading Volunteer
4. Trip Chaperone
5. Classroom Presentations ( on your area of expertise - can be done virtually)

Volunteers who are working directly with students are required to complete and submit to the school office  2 documents 

• Criminal Record check including a Vulnerable Sector check
• Child Abuse Registry 

Financial Support - You can 

• donate your recyclables at the depot on Portland Street to Hawthorn Elementary
• send in your Boston Pizza Receipts for a rebate for the school
• donate Superstore, Sobeys or Walmart gift cards to be used for the Breakfast Program

Whether you have an hour a day, a week, a month or a year, there is a role for you to play!
